European Athletics Championships To Be Shown On BBC Through 2027 (Sportcal)
The deal debuts with this year's European Athletics Championships in Rome from June 7 to 12, 2024, while also including the 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, the 2025 and 2027 European Athletics Indoor Championships, and the annual European Cross Country Championships from 2024 to 2027.
Hong Kong’s Now TV To Offer Service Bundle With Netflix (Digital TV Europe)
Hong Kong pay TV operator Now TV has tied with streaming giant Netflix, to deliver service bundle to customers that provides access to both Now TV and Netflix’s libraries of content under a single subscription. As part of an expanded deal with the streamer, Now TV set-top box subscribers will be able to watch Netflix’s expansive roster of content including US hit series Wednesday, Korean drama Queen of Tears, as well as Chinese-language titles The Victims’ Game and At the Moment.
Streaming Overtakes Dutch Linear Viewing (Broadband TV News)
Almost half of all households (49%) have access to Netflix; its nearest rival. RTL’s Videoland, has a 20% share with Disney+ in third place with 19%. Amazon Prime Video is up to fourth on 15%. Viaplay, which had declined over the past year, rallied in Q1 on the back of the start of the new F1 season. It reached 12% of Dutch households.

Speaking at Content Warsaw this week, PlumResearch research director Jonathan Broughton highlighted the value of this growth market, with original scripted comedy identified as being in high demand. Commissioning by streamers in Australia has plummeted to a new low, according to a new report published today by the Aussie industry union Screen Producers Australia (SPA). The SPA's report surveyed its members with 80% of respondents citing "Less" or "Much Less" commissioning interest from streaming services compared to last year.

BeIN Renews LaLiga Rights In France Amid Mbappe Fanfare (Sportcal)
BeIN Sports France, the French pay-television operator, will continue to show Spanish soccer’s LaLiga in France for at least two more seasons after agreeing an extended deal with the league. The broadcaster has been home to the top-tier league since 2012, with the new agreement taking the partnership to 14 years in length, through to 2026.
Premier Sports To Air Scottish Premiership Matches (Digital TV Europe)
The news follows the extension of the League’s contract with Sky Sports in 2022, which gave Sky the rights to show up to 60 live Premiership matches per season. The SPFL and Premier Sports have signed a five-season contract for Premier Sports to show 20 live Premiership matches per season in the UK and Ireland.
Amagi Boosts FAST Channel Count In Brazil (Advanced-Television)
Amagi, a specialist in cloud-based SaaS technology for broadcast and connected TV (CTV), has announced a strategic partnership with Brazil’s Globo through which six of the network’s FAST channels were implemented into the Amagi cloud-based playout platform.
