I really love speaking with people who aren’t huge stars. Sure, speaking with a Harrison Ford is fine-ish. But even if they are interested in speaking with the press, their publicist and management have wrung all of the spontaneity out of their answers.
I just spoke (maybe 30 minutes ago) with actress Carly Roland, who is appearing as archaeologist Teddi Isaacs in the current season of AMC’s “Dark Winds.”
I’m passing along the video version of the interview because it’s fun and because it’s an example of the type of conversation I love having with talent. It’s not episode-centered, it’s a discussion of their craft and what it’s like to be an actor.
The text version of the interview - along with the video - will go out to everyone else Thursday, ahead of the new episode of the show.
