Why do these guys never understand that free speech means that you don't get arrested for your words (like Mahmoud Khalil was, actually), but that it's totally acceptable for another person to say your words are garbage? In my younger years, I used to be really outspoken about free speech. But now, I hear the complaints loudest by people who suffer no actual consequences for what they speak other than mild criticism they somehow can't accept?

Free speech means you accept that any monologue can become a dialogue. Anyone like Tony Hinchcliffe who wants to pop off (or his apparently-aggrieved followers) needs to make peace with that.
