Thank you for this! 1) I didn’t know you were a standup comic for a decade and I love that! 2) I need to watch the Jo Firestone show — I love her so much (and laugh so hard) when she’s a guest on Lovett or Leave It.

Jo Firestone's show doesn't have a lot of huge laughs. But it just has a lot of heart and it's one of those rare shows that features older people who have led full lives with more left to give. It got some decent reviews when it premiered, but I don't think audiences knew what to make of it.

And yes, I did stand-up through all my 20s back in the dinosaur days. Did a bit of TV, but I stopped touring to take care of my sick mom. I didn't do stand-up for more than two years and decided just to move on to other things.

Jo’s show does sound really heartwarming so I’ll check it out. Hey the thought of trying stand up once is absolutely terrifying so good for you for doing it for a year! It must have been great training to be a reporter, too.

Thanks. I keep deleting them, but they are very persistent. I'll go through again and check.

Thanks for the tip of the hat to "Phineas And Ferb", a show I greatly admire.

I love Phineas & Ferb. And the Star Wars special is great. There is also a Marvel one, although I think that was less interesting.

This is a fabulous list! Thank you. I'll add:

Critter Fixers and Yukon Vet and I'm not even particularly an animal person.

Thanks. I've heard of both shows, but never watched them. But I'll check them out, I have enough suggestions to do another list sometime soon.

My husband and I watch The Repair Shop, which is available many place; we watch it on a channel we get through the Fire TV Cube and our Amazon Prime subscription. It is large building located on parkland in England, and it houses artisans who can fix anything from a broken clock to a 100 year old teddy bear.

People bring in family heirlooms and one or more of the artisans bring the item back from the brink of ruin.

It is 100 percent good will and fellowship and respect amongst the craftspeople.

It is a very soothing show to watch and you can come into it at any point and feel like you haven’t missed anything vital. There are tons of episodes.

Now that you mention it, I do recall seeing an episode or two of the show. But it slipped off my radar and I really need to go back and watch more.

My wife and I used to love watching the BBC series "Bargain Hunt," where two experts each take a team to a big flea market with the hopes of buying items they can sell for a profit. But they changed the format of the show a couple of seasons ago and it's not nearly as good now.
